Judicial Philosophy

I believe that every person who comes before the bench deserves to be heard with dignity, treated with respect, and given a fair opportunity to present their case. I believe that a courtroom should be a place where all individuals can trust that they will receive impartial consideration under the law.

Justice

My experience throughout the criminal justice system—as an attorney, Assistant District Attorney, First Assistant, Deputy Sheriff, and federal corrections officer—has provided me with a unique and comprehensive perspective. I understand the challenges faced by law enforcement officers in the field, the realities experienced by those accused of crimes, the responsibilities of prosecutors, and the vital role of defense attorneys. This breadth of experience gives me the knowledge and insight necessary to carefully weigh the facts, apply the law fairly, and render just decisions from the bench.

Community

I believe that serving as a judge extends beyond the courtroom. I am committed to our community. I believe I have a charge to encourage our young people, serve as a positive role model, and support initiatives that strengthens families and neighborhoods. For many years, I have been actively involved in efforts that uplift youths, assist the disadvantaged, and serve members of our community from all walks of life. I view this commitment as both a responsibility and a privilege.

Fairness. Justice. Community.

These are not just values I believe in—they are the principles that will guide my service on the bench.
